DanceMobbed Out

Wow, what a day!

The atmosphere was amazing, the music great and the dancing mindblowing! Thanks to over one thousand people who learnt the routine and the countless numbers who turned up and threw shapes on the riverside.

Stay tuned for a lot more high quality pictures and video from the day but here’s a few photos I managed to grab with my phone.

Just a couple I thought I’d pick out today, the first from the inspirational Company of Elders, an astonishing dance company based at Sadler’s Wells. The group drawn from the local community range in age from 61 to 85 and perform in leading dance venues across the world.

On the 30th they’ll be joining loads of other great London dance companies to perform DanceMob with us. There’s no excuses!

Not to be outdone the Leap of Faith group based at East London Dance (oldest member 96!) have got in the act:

It’s not too late to learn the routine, there’s a free Pop Video Dance Workshop this Saturday, where you’ll be able to learn DanceMob or just show up on the day and they’ll be free workshops every hour from 11am.

See you all this Sunday!

Southbank Centre staff learn DanceMob routine at lunchtime

That’s right, Southbank Centre threw caution to the wind (and flip flops to the side) today to learn the DanceMob routine at lunchtime in Royal Festival Hall!

There were no serious injuries but much practice needed. Can you do better? Learn the dance routine using the vid tutorials http://bit.ly/14rMcc then come and show us how it’s done at the main event on Aug 30.

Don’t forget to Tweet, Flickr, YouTube your routines and tag all your posts ‘dancemob’
